CD/DVD Guidelines

Safety Margins: Text and important images must fall within the red boxes. Extending important elements beyond these lines can cause problems during cutting, folding and assembly. Parts of images on text can end up being trimmed off or fall directly on a fold.

Cut Lines: This is approximately where your artwork will be trimmed. Keeping all text and important images inside the 1/8th inch safety margins will prevent their unintended loss during cutting.

Bleeds: This are is going to be completely trimmed during the cutting process. Only solid colors, background images or foreground images that intentionally run off the page should extend through the area. Having bleeds ensures that your artwork will not have a thin white border around it. 

Folds: Be very careful when running any text or important image over folds. Text, especially text under 9 pt. can be hard to read if it is falling on a fold.

Halftone ''pop dots'' Tutorial

Step 1: Open your image. Put a selection around the part of the image that you would like to put the pot darts effect behind. 

Step 2: Press apple+j twice. put a selection around layer 2.

Step 3: Go under the select menu, under modify, and choose expand. enter 10 pixels and click OK.

Step 4: Press d to switch your swatches to the default colors. option+delete

Step 5: Press the letter Q to enter quick mask mode. go under the filter menu, under pixelate, and choose color halftone. click OK.

Step 6: Keep running your filter until you are satisfied with the results. Tap the letter Q to leave quick mask mode.

Step 7: Option+delete. Deselect your image.

My family is pretty big. I have a lot of people in it. My mom's name is Dawn and my dad's name is Marc. I have a lot of cousins. Most of them are adults and I don't remember their names. The ones that are around my age are Stephan, age 9, Cazah, age 11, Naomi, age 13, Kyle, age 16, and Samantha, age 18. I have a lot of aunts and uncles. My aunts are Dominique, Nicoya, and Paula. My Uncles are Robert, Fred, and Jimmy. I also have a few grandparents. My Grandmothers are Linda and Patricia. My grandfather's names are Craig, and Floyd. Sadly my last Great grandparent died the summer of '08. I have a lot more people in my family but They are not related by blood.

Free write: friendship

There really isn't any thing I can write on friendship. The only thing I have is when I was at Laboratory charter school from 5th-7th grade. Most of the people their didn't like me for some strange reason. I only had 4 real friends. Their names were Jasmine, Zakya, Uriah, and Sterling. When ever someone would mess with me the would back me up. I also had someone who was sometimes nice to  me but other times rude. Her name was Morgan. I knew her since Kindergarten. I wasn't really used to having a few friends, before i came there i went to Lotus Academy and basically every one there was my friend. I still-and don't think i ever will- understand why most of the people in my class hated me so much.  

Snow day 1/28/09

When i woke up on Wednesday, i say it was bright outside and checked the time. It was 8:35. I got up and went to my parents to room to tell them we overslept. When i got there no one was in it. I immediately called my  mom and told her what happened. She laughed and said i didn't have school today. I was pretty relieved. I got dressed and went downstairs to make breakfast. I turned on the TV and ate breakfast. Nothing special happened it was like it was Saturday so I basically just watched TV. I talked to some of my friends since they had no school too.

One thing that happened to me that I regret is when i started playing a game called World of Warcraft. My friend introduced me to it when I was in 7th grade. When I started playing it i really liked it. Soon I felt that I couldn't stop playing this game for long periods of time. So when i was supposed to studying i was playing Warcraft. I almost failed the 7th grade because of it. I still play it now but i am horribly addicted to it.
