Holiday card project

What is the Holiday cad project?
The purpose of the holiday card project is to create holiday cards for people that are hospitalized during the holiday season. The idea behind the project is to simply bring a little cheer to those who are undergoing hospital stay.

Exactly who receives the cards?
The cards will be distributed to both U.S and international hospitals. The cards will be delivered in-person by a representative. The patients who receive the cards age in range from children to seniors and have illness or injuries that vary from mild to terminal.

What should I write in a card?
Be as creative as you'd like. Just remember, the degree of illness for patients will vary, so its important to be cheerful. Some suggested greetings include, "Hope your felling better" ,       "Thinking of you" , or "Have a nice day". Try to stay away from "Get well soon" as it might not be appropriate for all patients. Remember to include a message of "Happy holidays"

Will the patients know who sent the cards?

African proverb #7

"An intelligent enemy is better than a stupid friend."

Having an intelligent enemy is good because they will try to outsmart you
and you will constantly try to outsmart them. This could help you become smarter
because you constantly try to think a head of them so you would study them. This is
better than having a stupid friend because if you have a stupid friend than everything
is simple. You don't really have to think about outsmarting a stupid friend. This
could make you stupid or you would just be average.

"Knowledge is better than riches" means that being wise and knowing many things is better than having a lot of of money or jewelry. This can be applied to everyday life. For example it is better to go to school and learn rather than stand on the corner selling drugs to get money. However not many people would believe this. But i am not one of those people.

08-09 School Year

I have many goals for the new school year. one of these goals is to pass the 8th grade with at least a B+ in all my classes. I also want to get better with my behavior and control my self. I believe I did not do this last year because early in the school year I didn't do to well and my parents and I had not done anything before it was too late. This was clearly the wrong thing to do. I believe I should have done something about this earlier.

The benefits of me coming to New Media is that it will help me further my understanding in computers and technology. I feel that will help me me in the future to pursue a career in computers. In fact this school will be important to me achieving that dream.

Last school year i was in the school Laboratory Charter School of Communications and Languages. My weakest subject was science. A lot of of people in my class did very good in that class. Although i did not do good. I had one of the lowest grades in the class. My strongest subject was spanish. I am very good with spanish. It was also one of my favorite classes.

African proverb 6

"It is better to be loved than feared."

This is an important proverb. I think it means that it is better to have people like you than to have people be afraid of you. I think this is true. Many people should accept this proverb into their lives. It could help them become better people and have more people want to be around them.

This could be applied into everyday life.An example would be that everyone in your class feared you than you would get what every you wanted but no one would want to be around you. This would prevent you from having many friends.

Extra Money

If you had an extra $100,000 to give away, what would you do with the money?

If i had $100,000 to give away i would give it to places that really need it. I would give to charity. One thing i would give it to is the search for a cure cancer research center. I would give them $20,000. I would also give it to the diabetes research center. I would give them about $30,000. Last of all i would give $50,000 to New Media Technology Charter School.

I have reasons for giving the money to the places i would give them to. I would give $20,000 to the cancer research center because i think cancer is a serious disease and it kills many people. The reason I would give $30,000 to the diabetes research center is because my grandfather has cancer and I want to help them find a cure to help m grandfather. Last i would give $50,000 to the school because i think the school could really use it after they made the new High School building.

African Proverb 5

"The fool speaks, the wise person listens."

I think this proverb means that any thing some one says could be useful later. This could be applied in life in different ways.  One way is that every thing your teacher says is important and could show up on a test or quiz. So it would be good to copy and study just about everything your teacher says.
